Disorder and Topic The disorder I chose to research for my paper was Dissociative Identity Disorder. Dissociative Identity Disorder is formerly known as multiple personality disorder and is characterized as an individual presenting two or more alternate personalities. Those said personalities are said to essentially help an individual escape the stress and overwhelming struggles of everyday life (Traub, 2009). As for my topic I chose to explore was whether or not Dissociative Identity Disorder even existed. The reason I chose to explore DID was the curiosity I have always had over the disorder, because I feel that I have a sister that has a mild form of it and it is something I always have struggled with understanding. My older sister I believe has a mild for of the disorder, was indeed severely traumatized and sexually abused for years as a child. After watching Sybil I do have a better understanding of what DID is and how childhood trauma can definitely attribute to this disorder . So when choosing my topic of whether the disorder even existed, I definitely wanted to explore why the disorder is still typically a debate of existing or not and what has been researched on the disorder. Articles The three articles I chose to explore on DID all compare and contrasted the validity of existence pertaining to the disorder. Thee first article compared its validity to what generally constitutes a mental disorder, and its challenges. History films have often been criticised by academics and journalists as inaccurate depictions of the past. Yet there is no denying the fact that blockbuster history films are increasingly influential in shaping our understanding of historical people and events thanks to the accessibility of the medium. Producers of these films often take liberties with facts to tell a more dramatic, engaging and entertaining story. They have a basis in truth but are greatly influenced by the writersââ¬â¢ and directorsââ¬â¢ desire to envelop the audience in the story and to entertain. They focus the visual and auditory senses of the viewer on the subject being studied creating a stimulating and forceful impact on the viewer, therefore engaging their interest.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Historically, Martin is loosely tied to the Continental Army Officer Francis Marion, the ââ¬ËSwamp Foxââ¬â¢, along with four other historical figures. Mongouls Essay MongolsMongols have a long history of being animal herders that roamed the lands. The reason for this is because the land they lived on was because water was a hard source to come upon. Many plants that grew on their land were not enough for the tribes to live on. This would not be the case for too long though. The tribes would eventually allied with Turkish tribes who would build empires. Soon Mongols would build their own empire. A lot of the Mongols history they were warriors who went into civilization and take over. But they were not about destruction. When they eventually had an empire they had many beautiful works of art. They used some of their slaves or people they captured in battle to help make their empire beautiful. They had gold and silver statues. They had decorative garments for their priests who conducted service. Along with all of these beautiful artifacts religion played a major role in Mongol lives. Mongols had many different types of religion. Buddhism, Nestorian Christianity, and Manichaeism. Many of these religions were also spread to other people, which is another way of creating and not destroying. There was a lot of Mongol armies in their time that destroyed and conquered, but there was also the other side of Mongols which I stated earlier. Another thing to take into consideration during this time period if you were not a power meaning having a strong army then you were probably under some one elses power. This did not leave much choice for the Mongols.

I am a product of two different ideologies: my dad, who very much dislikes the church, and the church itself. Along the way I have experienced the best of both worlds: the wise words of an experienced father, and the spiritual guidance of the church. These two worlds, vastly different, have been linked together into a suit of chainmail that is my life. Not easily broken by the strains of everyday life or the swords used by everyone around me, this chainmail makes me who I am. My father raised me on good morals; he made sure I would not grow up to be a selfish and cruel man, but rather a kind and selfless one. My dad has been there next to me on all my decisions. When I wanted to join baseball as a child, he would try to become a coach for that team. Making sure I did the best I could and that I really had a positive experience from it, he involved himself in my life as much as he could. He pushed me farther than any coach ever has, and in everything I have done too, whether it be a sport, or academics, or just my dedication to certain aspects of my life. For example, when I joined the church he was totally supportive despite the fact that he dislikes it. When I started attending a youth service regularly, he drove me to and from without any complaints. All the while, he kept reminding me I should choose what about religion I believe rather than let it be pushed on me by the church. I am glad my dad told me this, otherwise I probably would have ended up like most ââ¬Å"Christiansâ⬠I know. They show up at church, and go home unchanged by the message received. When I go home, I apply the message to my life. When I go to school I apply the message. Everywhere I go, I apply the message of God to my life. I love the people around me, and try to show that in my a ctions. If I see someone in need of help I will help, and I often help out where itââ¬â¢s needed. Like everyone else, I do make mistakes. However, with my morals by my father and the message of life by God, I choose the best choice, whichever it may be. The two together protect each other and make me a strong individual, not easily moved by unwanted matters.

Biography of Pink Floyd Essay Free Online Research Papers Music is a large field made of many types each having a character and a color. Through it, the audience is selected and the taste is acquired. Music genre differs and new styles get born. Few pioneers somewhat reached perfection and become a legend in the genre they play, such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd took psychedelic rock to a next level and became icons in their field. They lead flourishing years in the early ââ¬â¢60s and stayed on track despite the various problems they went through. Here is a glimpse of Pink Floydââ¬â¢s stages from the early ââ¬â¢60s till present time. Before Pink Floyd came to life Roger Waters formed few bands which all ended in a way or another. The recruit of Bob Close and Syd Barret, they changed their name into the Pink Floyd sound. Later that year, bob close left the band. After that, the band recorded their first album ââ¬Å"The Piper at The Gates of Down.â⬠They recorded their first album in the studio where the Beatles were recording, so the band got to know the Beatles very well. During their production to the first album, Sydââ¬â¢s addictions to LSD (better known as acid) lead him to write amazing songs but in the meantime, his performance deteriorated. The band decided to replace Syd with David Gilmour, an old friend of Roger and Syd. During the coming concerts, David was recruited to cover for Syd on stage. If Syd makes a mistake, David would fill the gap and fix it. But the situation was too messed up to be corrected in this way, so the band decided to pick him up; ââ¬Å"he was institutionalized for drug a buse in 1974.â⬠The band continued playing without Syd in 1968 and that was going great in England but not in America. At that time, the band toured with Jimi Hendrix which helped it to increase its popularity. At the end of 1968, the band played a concert in France; they also played a rock opera on stage called ââ¬Å"The Man and The Journey.â⬠At the end of 1969, Pink Floyd released a double album called ââ¬Å"Ummagummaâ⬠, the first disk consisted of live tracks and the second consisted of solo studio tracks. In the early ââ¬â¢70s, they released their newer album ââ¬Å"Atom Heart Mother.â⬠Joy Boyd, Pink Floydââ¬â¢s executive producer, made a compilation album in 1971 of both released and unreleased material from Pink Floyds past and called it ââ¬Å"Relics.â⬠In that time pink Floyd issued their new album ââ¬Å"Meddleâ⬠with another peculiar song called ââ¬Å"Echoesâ⬠which is 23 minutes long. In 1971, they were asked to do another soundtrack for a movie. After going to Rome to visit one of the two cities destroyed by ââ¬Å" Moun Vesuviusâ⬠2000 years ago, they filmed a private concert and played the best of their material. They issued a video called ââ¬Å"live at Pompeiiâ⬠, which also included the video recording behind the album of their new work. When Pink Floyd was making ââ¬Å"Obscured by Cloudsâ⬠they wrote a 45 minutes opus of songs that they played live. This opus was called ââ¬Å"Eclipseâ⬠and it concentrated on the society and how it isolates, controls and demolishes life. The initial name for the opus was supposed to be ââ¬Å"Dark Side of the Moonâ⬠but the British blues band medicine head released an album the previous year of the same name. So they let the name go until they heard that the medicine album collapsed on Billboard charts, so they refurbished the name ââ¬Å"Dark Side of the Moonâ⬠and also wrote an ending song for the opus which was called ââ¬Å"Eclipse.â⬠After that, they twisted their oeuvre into an album in 1973 called ââ¬Å"Dark Side of the Moon.â⬠(It was the second highest selling record in history). To continue the success of the album ââ¬Å"Dark Side of the Moonâ⬠Pink Floyd issued the album ââ¬Å"Wish You Were Here.â⬠The album was devoted to original lyricist and guitar player Syd Barret. During that tour, they wrote another opus, but it was mostly instrumental this oeuvre turned to be ââ¬Å"Shine on You Crazy Diamond.â⬠This song was split into two parts because it didnââ¬â¢t fit on the cassette. After the accomplishment of the album ââ¬Å"Wish You Were Hereâ⬠, the band waited a year and a half before releasing another album. This album was based on the aristocratic and socialist way of life in the world. Each type of person was loosely based on an animal. On July 6th, 1977, the band played their final performance of the tour of the album animals in Montreal, Quebec where one of the fans was screaming relentlessly and accomplishing his way up toward the stage, Roger spit out on him to show misadjustment. Roger felt creepy about this and run away to his hotel room and started writing new music, about how much he and the audience have shattered. At the end of 1978, the band met together to discuss new projects. After David and Rich had made solo albums, Roger Waters made two projects and only one of them was taken, that project was ââ¬Å"The Wall.â⬠This album was released in UK and US and in both places the fans loved it. Between feb26th, 1980 and September 1981, P ink Floyd played the wall in earthââ¬â¢s court in London two times, as if they played in Los Angeles, and four times in Fallen Halle in Dortmund Germany. Rick Wright left the band in 1982 where the band recruited new keyboard players for a new project called spare bricks. Roger had plans for the new album in November 1983 but because of the anxiety between each of the members, Roger dismissed the plans and changed the name of the album to ââ¬Å"The Final Cutâ⬠which it probably would be if David and Nick left, but they didnââ¬â¢t. In 1984, the band separated, Rick Wright created a solo project with Dave Harris called ââ¬Å"Zee-identityâ⬠, David Gilmour made a new solo album called ââ¬Å"About Faceâ⬠, and Roger Waters made ââ¬Å"Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking.â⬠In 1986, David Gilmour discussed with Mason about getting the band back together. This caused a major law outfit. Roger Waters prosecuted David and Nick for the rights of the music, and the band n ame itself. Roger didnââ¬â¢t achieve in that because everything was recorded under the name of Pink Floyd. ââ¬Å"A Momentary Lapse of Reasonâ⬠was an album made by Dave and Nick in 1986. Both Dave and Nick concreted a collection of musicians for the album, like Phil Manzenaral (Guitar), Richard Wright(Keyboard) and the twenty-three others. Pink Floyd started recording in 1993 for their new album ââ¬Å"The Division Bell.â⬠Richard Wright was finally back fully with the band. The band made a tour for six months, where they played twelve shows. Pink Floyd released a live album and video on their division bell tour. The band was successful once more. In 1969, the band was introduced into the Rock and Roll hall celebrity. Mason, Wright, and Gilmore performed ââ¬Å"Wish You Were Hereâ⬠with Billy Corgan of smashing pumpkins, and after that, the band didnââ¬â¢t make any concert, but Pink Floyd made a live album where they chose different recordings from different live shows with Roger Waters. Roger Waters toured in 1999 and 2000 and made a new live album called â⠬Å"In the Fleshâ⬠. At the end of 2001, the band created a new compilation ââ¬Å"Echoesâ⬠with Roger Waters and the producer James Gathery. This album had a great influence on the market. At last, we canââ¬â¢t but appreciate the bandââ¬â¢s achievement and their major contribution to the improvement of music standards. Even though the band split at the end with prime disagreement but a reunion was organized in the ââ¬Å"Live 8â⬠in 2005 where they sang as a band. After 24 years of break up, Pink Floydââ¬â¢s era finished, but they have left marks in the peopleââ¬â¢s lives. Developing an evaluation plan - Research Paper Example The staff is the most important part of any care setting, so it only makes sense that the staff itself should be surveyed. According to Brown (1992), there must be ââ¬Å"identifie[d] broad categories of determinants of nursing turn-overâ⬠(pp. 154). The people who are in the administration should obtain turn-over rates before and after initiating change. This would be helpful in order to analyze whether or not changing policies effectively reduced the rate of turn-over among the nursing staff. â⬠¨Ã¢â¬ ¨ Another thing that the administration should do is to compare patient discharge surveys before the change and after the initiation of change. This ââ¬Å"customer service satisfactionâ⬠survey would definitely help nurses to increase their level of effectiveness and visibility.â⬠¨Ã¢â¬ ¨ Staff attitudes towards the patient are definitely issues that must be addressed. If we are to be serious about the quality of the nursing, we need to know what the staff thinks of the organization they are working for, without having fear of retribution. Perhaps an anonymous questionnaire or survey would be a good indicator that would allow those overseeing the staff to more closely evaluate some of their policies. Patient attitudes and perceptions could definitely help the matrix to be devised which would help reduce the turn-over of the nurses in the organization and improve service to the customers, who in this case would be the patients. Patient attitudes and perceptions are part of what will make the rate of turn-over improve or decline. Thus, it is most important to have the patientsââ¬â¢ input. The rate of nursing staff turn-over must be addressed. If there is a problem with retention of the staff, there must be something or someone in the organization that is causing these nurses to leave after a short time. Hopefully, with the analysis of the nursing staff, and with the assistance of questionnaires and surveys, it is then and only then that
